Premier Sport
Reception and KS1 are very lucky to have their P.E. lessons taught by Premier Sport.
Who are Premier Sport?
Premier Sport is the UK’s largest children’s coaching company of its kind, successfully delivering more than 25,000 sport and physical activity sessions every month. Premier Sport works closely with 15% of all Primary Schools in England helping to inspire children to live a healthy, fit and fun life. Premier Sport staff are all National Governing Body qualified in the activities they are delivering. Added to this all staff have DBS checks and are trained in first aid and safeguarding.

What do Premier Sport cover in each P.E unit?
Invasion Games (Team Sports) – Our activity objectives over the half term are:
Skills of travel, send, chase, receive, avoid, dodge, control; awareness of other players
Experience a variety of games equipment; practicing in trios; competition, simple rules and tactics for attacking and defending
Develop making up simple games, playing (net/wall, striking, goal scoring), playing these games – alone/pairs/groups
Net & Wall (Tennis, Badminton) – Our activity objectives over the half term are:
Skills of travel, send, chase, receive, control; awareness of space and partner
Experience a variety of games equipment; practicing with a partner; competition, simple rules
Develop simple games (net/wall, striking, goal scoring), playing these games – alone/with a partner
Gymnastics – Our activity objectives over the half term are:
Skills of travelling, stillness, balance, turning, rolling, climbing, swinging, weight on hands, placing apparatus, jumping
Experience consolidating work identified in this section from previous work, adapting and improving control of actions
Develop and consolidate work identified in this section from Year One with emphasis in repeating sequences of movements, linking activities on floor/apparatus, using pupils’ own choices to link skills and actions in short movement phrases
Outdoor Adventure Activities – Our activity objectives over the half term are:
Skills of travelling, climbing, jumping, chasing, independence, cooperation, taking turns, handling small apparatus safely
Experience large apparatus, playground markings, and a range of small equipment
Develop an awareness of basic safety practices, outdoor space, sharing with different age groups and fair play
Athletics – Our activity objectives over the half term are:
Skills of running, throwing, jumping, direction, control, accuracy and distance
Experience indoor/outdoor areas, competition and games, variety of activities and equipment which stimulate skill and learning development
Develop an understanding of safe practice linked to the activities
Striking & Fielding (Cricket, Rounders) – Our activity objectives over the half term are:
Skills of hand eye coordination, catching, throwing
Experience teamwork, learning and following rules, competing fairly
Develop an understanding different roles e.g. batting, fielding, score keeping.
Lunch Clubs
Premier Sport offer lunch time provision across the whole week, to all classes from Reception to Year 6. Each class spends an allotted time with one of our coaches where they will have access to a variety of games, sports and team building exercises.
