Nursery

The Early Years Foundation Stage is the period of education from age 0 – 5. In school this includes the (nursery) EYFS 1 year and the (reception) EYFS 2 year. It is called the Early Years Foundation Stage because it gives children secure foundations for later learning. This period is a distinct stage with its own early learning goals in basic skills. Most children should be able to reach the majority of these goals by the end of the Foundation Stage.
Early experiences affect children’s attitudes to learning. They create the basis for later learning, in school and beyond and are therefore extremely important.
