Homework for year 3
This year pupils will be expected to:
- Pupils should continue to read regularly at home (a minimum of four times a week, (approximately 20 minutes a day), and parents should sign reading records at least once a week. Parents should check their child understands by asking questions about the texts your child has chosen to read- see inside the Reading Record for suggestions of questions prompts the year 3 spelling list of words they should be able to read and spell.
- In addition, we would like all children to regularly practise their times tables using Times tables Rocks Stars. Each child has been given their own unique username/password and this can be accessed on a smartphone, computer or tablet. You can access the site by clicking the link below.

This term we are learning about the Ancient Greeks, we have arranged for “Whitworks Ancient Greek Workshop” to come into our school for a full day of active learning through drama.
This half term our children have the great opportunity to take part in the Manchester United Foundation after school club where they can learn new physical skills.
We will begin swimming lessons in February so all our children will be able to swim 25metres unaided, use a range of different strokes, tread water and have some life saving skills.
We are lucky enough to have “Salford Reds” coaches come into our PE lessons and teach us the skills needed to play Tag Rugby during this half term and we look forward to selecting some of the children to represent our school in a Tag Rugby competition at Salford Reds Stadium later in the year.
