Newsletter 18th May 2012

Dear parents,

Dear parents,
As you are aware the OFSTED inspectors have been in school this week, we now eagerly await their report, a copy of the report will be sent to all parents in due course. I would like to thank parents for their prayers and supportive comments.

Well done to our Year 6 children who have been sitting their Key Stage 2 SAT's this week. They have all worked very hard this year and have done their best which is all we can ever ask. Well done to each and everyone of them!

One of our Grandads has been working tirelessly over the past year to ensure that the council erect a safety barrier and yellow zigzag lines along Park Lane. You hopefully have noticed that this has now been done! We must respectfully ask that parents observe this no parking rule.
Our sincere thanks must go to Mr Silcock for his time and effort for the safety of our children!

SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME
The children of St Luke's Parish will be confirmed this Sunday at 2pm. Please remember them in your prayers as they receive this wonderful Sacrament.

Our Year 5 team are league 1 runners up, played 7, won 5 and drawn 2! Despite playing a good game of football against Broadoak in the Mellor Cup Final earlier this week, they were beaten 2-1 in the end, well done we are so proud of you all.
Thank you Mr Duignan, Miss Delaney and Mrs Thornton for giving our children the opportunity to take part in the inter school football games!

'FRIENDS' OF ST. LUKE'S (PTA) CAR BOOT SALE
Letters have been sent home this week regarding the car boot sale which will take place in the school playground on Saturday 7th July 10am till 2pm. Price per pitch £10. This is a great way to clear out all those unwanted items such as toys, clothes etc, whilst making some extra money! Pitches have to be booked and paid for in advance as there will be no room for anyone turning up on the day. Please complete the tear off slip at the bottom of the letter and return to the school office as soon as possible.
